3. Legal Documentation Matters – As per MahaRERA a Developer must make all documents including any litigations availabe on the project page on the MahaRERA website. Seek legal advice if necessary. Hire a MahaRERA registered broker.
4. MahaRERA registered Brokers – MahaRERA has made it mandatory for all Brokers / Agents to register with MahaRERA and appear for competency exams. Working with registered Brokers ensures you are getting the right advice and they will also conduct basic research of the project on the MahaRERA website on your behalf. MahaRERA keeps updating the rules and regulations to protect the interest of the Buyers and a registered MahaRERA Agent will be aware of this and can guide you. For e.g., MahaRERA’s most recent order states that the Developer must clearly mention the details of all amenities including location, size and proposed handover date clearly in the Agreement as an annexure.
5. Say No to Cash Transactions – Why? Well, because it’s ILLEGAL. Always opt for bank transactions and maintain a clear paper trail. This ensures transparency and accountability throughout the process.
6. Stay Wary of High-Pressure Tactics – Sales teams will often use urgency and pressure to force hasty decisions. Take your time, think things through, and never let anyone rush you into making a real estate investment. It’s one of the most expensive investment you will ever make in your lifetime.
